Disclaimer
What TCM Campus is, and what it is not. This applies to the site, the free trial, every lesson, the tools, the print set and the certificate.
Study material, not medical advice
TCM Campus is educational material on the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine, for students and practitioners. Nothing in the course or on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis or treatment advice, and it does not replace a consultation with a doctor or practitioner. If you have symptoms, see your doctor.
Treatment
The point selections, treatment principles and formulae in the lessons are examples from the textbook tradition, for learning to reason. They say nothing about location, technique or depth. Treatment is for qualified practitioners only, after medical causes have been ruled out. Formulae are given by name and principle, without dosages or preparation; prescribing herbs requires its own training.
The tools and exercises
The Pattern lab, the cases, the consultation exercise and the exam trainer train reasoning within the course material. They do not assess a real patient and give no diagnosis. Always discuss traditional pattern thinking separately from conventional differential diagnosis and warning symptoms; no case justifies delaying a medical assessment.
No qualification, no licence
The course is theory, as a study companion alongside a programme. It contains no needling technique, point location, herbal dosing, clinical practice or placement, and it does not entitle anyone to treat. The certificate confirms that you successfully completed the course: every lesson marked as done and every test passed with at least 70 percent. It is not a diploma, an accredited qualification or an accreditation.
Independent
TCM Campus is independent study material. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Giovanni Maciocia, the author of The Foundations of Chinese Medicine, its publishers or any school. We name the book and its author only to say which book the course accompanies; the page references are citations. The course is made to be used alongside the book, not to replace it.
Science
Every scientific claim in the lessons has been checked in PubMed and carries an evidence grade: A experimental, B associative, C a bridge for thinking. A bridge between TCM and physiology is a way of thinking, never an equation.
Feedback
The material is continually improved and expanded based on feedback. Missing something, or see something that could be better? Email hello@tcmcampus.com. Our terms also apply.
